Mathilde – Presence in Bloom

Created directly from life in a single twenty-minute sitting, this work explores the fragile boundary between appearance and presence. Rather than describing the body, the drawing follows its internal rhythm—its weight, breath, and silent vitality. 

The figure emerges from an open field of white, suspended between gesture and stillness. Layers of acrylic marker accumulate like traces of lived experience, allowing the image to remain fluid, unfinished, and alive. 

For Fangyou Belleli, the drawing is not a record of what was seen, but a residue of an encounter. The body becomes a vessel through which time, movement and attention briefly take form.
