Created directly from life in a single painting session, Where Poppies Remember emerges from a conversation between memory and presence. 

Before the pose began, Antonella spoke of a field of red poppies. As she settled into stillness, the memory remained. Gradually, the contours of the landscape seemed to reappear within the body itself. Hills became shoulders. Valleys became folds of flesh. The imagined terrain and the living figure began to occupy the same space. 

Painted through rapid, intuitive gestures, the work does not seek to describe a reclining body. Instead, it follows the invisible movement through which memory becomes form. 

For Fangyou Belleli, the figure is never isolated from the life it has lived. Every posture carries histories, emotions and places that continue to inhabit the body long after the moment has passed. 

In Where Poppies Remember, the landscape is no longer external. It has become inseparable from the human presence that carries it.
