Editing & Formal Structure
Portfolio Refinement
Shaping the body of work with precision
By this stage, your work has been selected, organized, and clarified.
Session 6 focuses on transforming this material into a professional artistic dossier.
A portfolio is not simply a collection of artworks.
It is a working document used to introduce your practice to schools, residencies, galleries, institutions, competitions, collectors, and collaborators.
This session finalizes the visual, textual, and structural components needed to present your work professionally.
We move from portfolio development to dossier construction.
The objective is clear:
to leave this session with a nearly complete artist dossier, ready for future opportunities and further narrative development.

What We’ll Move Through Together
We finalize and structure the professional presentation of your work.
Portfolio / Artist Book Development
We refine:
- final sequencing and editing of artworks
- visual hierarchy and pacing
- image quality, consistency, and presentation
- structure of the artist book (digital format)
We organize:
- cover page and introduction
- artwork order and grouping
- captions and technical information
- portfolio readability and navigation
Professional Documents
We begin developing and refining:
- artist statement
- artist bio (short / medium / long versions)
- artist CV and references
- series texts and project descriptions
- exhibition texts or curatorial support material (if relevant)
Tools & Preparation
We introduce practical formats and tools depending on the participant’s needs:
- PowerPoint
- Canva
- Figma
- Keynote / PDF workflow
The goal is not software mastery.
The goal is producing a clear, professional artistic dossier.
You Will Leave With
- a near-final portfolio / artist book (digital version)
- a structured artistic dossier ready for future applications
- refined artist statement, bio, and CV drafts
- organized artwork captions and support texts
- a portfolio adapted for schools, residencies, exhibitions, competitions, and galleries
- a professional foundation ready for narrative, visibility, and positioning work
This session concludes:
PHASE 2 — Structure & Language
Post-Session Integration — Session 6
Finalize your artistic dossier
You now hold the foundations of a professional artistic dossier.
Take distance and review it as if you were seeing it for the first time.
Ask yourself:
- Does this dossier represent who I am as an artist?
- Is my work understandable without explanation?
- Does the visual sequence support the written narrative?
- What still feels missing, unclear, or unfinished?
- Would I confidently submit this to a school, residency, competition, or gallery?

Before Session 7
Please prepare:
- updated portfolio / artist book
- artist statement, bio, CV drafts
- website, Instagram, LinkedIn or communication materials (if existing)
- previous applications, exhibitions, publications, press, projects
- references of artists, galleries, websites, or communication styles you admire
Bring questions.
Bring examples.
Bring ambition.
Session 7 will begin the next phase:
Narrative, communication, and positioning.
We move from:
building the work → presenting the artist
