Stratigraphy of Gesture

Fangyou Belleli’s work is built through the accumulation of gestures made under extreme temporal constraints.

Her practice is rooted first in drawing from life, where strict time limits — five minutes, ten minutes, sometimes less than three — eliminate any hesitation. The line must emerge immediately, relying on bodily memory rather than correction.
