Painted on 17 May 2024, this duo of Didie was rare and luminous. Black live models were seldom present at Beaux-Arts, and her echoing poses became one of my first explorations of double-figure composition.

I was not seeking validation — only truth. Rolled up while still fresh, this work escaped later theft and vandalism, a reminder that destiny weaves its own warp and weft. What is meant to remain, remains.
