Background: A female energy healer trained in tantra and breathwork entered an extended retreat in Costa Rica. The “shaman” used physical touch, sexual energy, and voice hypnosis under the guise of awakening the Kundalini.
Symptoms upon return:
- Night terrors
- Obsessive thoughts about the leader
- Sacral depletion and sexual confusion
- Loops of guilt and shame
Healing Path:
She named what happened.
She stopped calling it a “teaching.”
She extracted the illusion of consent.

Not all plant ceremonies are trauma.
Not all shamans are imposters.
But the bypass, the lack of integrity, and the worship of altered states over inner work…
That is the real harm.
